It’s Priesthood Sunday!
by Mercedes Hollcraft | 09/25/2022 | From the ClergyThis Sunday is a reminder of the opportunity to give thanks for the priesthood and to honor and affirm our own priests. At our school, our priests play an important role in the life of our students. Whether it’s working with altar servers and lectors at Mass, visiting the classrooms to share and pray with students, providing spiritual and emotional support to families and staff in need or just being present to students at recess, our priests are vital to the life of the school and we are deeply grateful.
How important is the priesthood? The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that it is “through the ordained ministry, especially that of bishops and priests, the presence of Christ as head of the Church is made visible in the midst of the community of believers” (1549).
On this Fall Festival weekend, we come together as one community to celebrate the gifts in our parish, including our priests; As we enjoy the fruits of our labor, the good food, and our fellowship, take a moment to say thank you to our priests for their dedication and sacrifices. Most importantly, let’s pray for them: Let’s pray that our parish family may always embrace our priest and sustain their ministry by our love and prayers. Let’s pray that we may never take the presence of our priest for granted. Let’s pray specifically for Father Adrian and his ministry to our parish. May we continue to support him and to celebrate the gift of his life and his service to us.
Thank you for Fr. Adrian, Fr. Sleeva and Fr. Sergio for the gift of your vocation!
