Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Christ has Risen! Alleluia!

Jesus Christ, who was brutally put to death and buried, is alive again through the power of God. The message of Easter, the message of the Resurrection is that “he has been raised from the dead”, Jesus Christ was victorious over sin and death for the salvation of mankind!

When Christ’s followers learned that Christ was alive, they wanted the whole earth to know about it. In the Easter Vigil readings, when the women come to the tomb, the angel tells them “Do not be afraid!” We are told that the women were “fearful yet overjoyed” and on their way to share the news they encountered Jesus himself. Once again, he repeated “Do not be afraid” and exhorted them to “Go tell my brothers…” Mary Magdalene runs to them and tells them “I have seen the Lord”. She brought this news to the disciples and, in time, they brought it to the world.

Just as Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene and the disciples, This Easter season should remind us that Jesus comes to us and he tells us to not be afraid; to go forth and spread the Good News to the rest of the world. Brothers and Sisters, we are entrusted with this Easter message; let us allow ourselves to be transformed as we encounter Christ; then, we can take the Good News of the Resurrection to others so they may be transformed as well!
