"Lord, let us not be deaf to your voice"

by Deacon Oscar Cervantes  |  09/10/2023  |  From the Clergy

Today more than ever, we believers should listen to Jesus' call to correct ourselves and help each other to be better. Jesus invites us to act patiently and without haste, getting closer in a personal and friendly way to whom is acting in a  wrong way “if your brother sins, rebuke him alone; between the two of you, if he listens to you, you will have saved your brother ”.

How much good he can do us all that friendly and loyal criticism, that timely observation, that sincere support in the moment we become disoriented. Every person is capable of leaving their sin and returning to reason and goodness. But he often needs to meet someone who truly loves him, invites him to question himself and infects him with a new desire for truth and generosity.

Perhaps what changes many people the most is not great ideas or beautiful thoughts, but having met someone who has known how to approach them in a friendly way and has helped them to renew their love for Christ.
