Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to you!

This weekend we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus. It is a big celebration for us. Why? Because “as we have shared in a death like his so too will we share in His Resurrection.” This is taken from one of the preface prayers for a funeral Mass. This is what gives us hope. When life becomes too heavy for us, when we are overwhelmed, when we feel like no one sees us, we trust that Jesus is with us to make it through this life.

It is in offering these earthly things to Him, uniting our pain and suffering with His on the Cross that we find solace in our faith and trust in Him. And when God calls us back to himself, this is the hope we have in sharing in the Resurrection of Jesus.

I have enjoyed the season of Lent, especially seeing an increase of people at Masses and approaching the sacrament of confession, but I pray that all those who have been coming again or more often keep on joining us in worship at Mass and nurture their growing faith. I also appreciate the slower pace of the parish in this time, but I know that parish life will soon pick up and we all must be ready to receive and welcome these disciples of Jesus. We especially congratulate and welcome those who have been fully initiated in the Church at the Easter Vigil-welcome home!

Have a Blessed Easter season!
