Mientras oramos por el éxito de la Reparación de nuestra Iglesia, sabemos que Jesús es nuestro Buen Pastor que verdaderamente nos cuida, nos alimenta y nos ama.

Él dijo: "Yo soy la puerta", lo que significa que sólo en él y a través de él
tenemos vida y salvación. Su buena noticia de paz, rectitud y justicia es nuestra puerta de entrada a la vida eterna; Reconocerlo como nuestro Salvador es la puerta al reino de los cielos.

While we pray for the success of our Church Repair, We know that Jesus is our Good Shepherd who truly tends us, feeds us and loves us.

He said, "I am the gate" which means, in and through him alone we have life and salvation. His Good News of peace, righteousness and justice is our gate to enter into eternal life; Acknowledging Him as our Saviour is the gateway towards the kingdom of Heaven.

The second week of the church's year-long repair project is complete. Scaffolding has been set up to remove all of the interior windows. Next week the upper windows and roof tiles will start to be removed.

El proyecto de reparación de la iglesia de un año de duración continúa. Se instalaron andamios para quitar todas las ventanas interiores. Esta semana se empezarán a retirar las ventanas superiores y las tejas.

After having traveled the "Lenten Path" with its message and invitation to "conversion and believe in the Gospel", in addition to receiving every Sunday the proposal of the gospels (Temptation, Transfiguration, Samaritan, Blind from birth, Resurrection of Lazarus and Palm Sunday) we begin Easter time, which goes hand in hand with Lent.

Our faith is sustained in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, as Pope Francis said in his homily at the Easter Vigil on April 8: "This is what the Lord's Easter accomplishes: it encourages us to go forward, to overcome the feeling of defeat, to remove the stone from the tombs in which we often enclose hope, to look to the future with confidence, because Christ rose and changed the course of history.”

Después de haber recorrido el “Camino cuaresmal” con su mensaje e invitación a la “conversión y ha creer en el Evangelio”, además de recibir cada domingo la propuesta de los evangelios (Tentaciones, Transfiguración, Samaritana, Ciego de nacimiento, Resurrección de Lázaro y Domingo de Ramos) emprendemos el tiempo pascual, que va de la mano de la cuaresma.

Early this morning (4/17), ACME Construction began prepping the church on Maze Blvd. for the nearly year-long repair process. A construction fence has been installed around the church, equipment has started to be brought in, landscaping around the church is being removed, pews and flooring are being covered.

In the coming days, scaffolding will be put up inside and outside the church and the roof tile removal will begin.

Please pray during this process and ask for the intercession of St. Francis of Assisi that not only do we repair the church building but also renew the parishioners and baptized of St. Stanislaus Catholic Community who are our true church!!

El lunes temprano por la mañana (17 de abril), el contratista general de la parroquia comenzó a preparar la iglesia en Maze Blvd. para el proceso de reparación que puede durar casi un año. Se instaló una cerca de construcción alrededor de la iglesia, se trajeron equipos, se quitaron los jardines alrededor de la iglesia, se cubrieron las bancas y el piso.

En los próximos días se instalarán andamios dentro y fuera de la iglesia y se iniciará el retiro de tejas.

¡Oremos durante este proceso y pidamos la intercesión de San Francisco de Asís para que no solo reparemos el edificio de la iglesia sino también nosotros los feligreses y bautizados de la comunidad católica de San Estanislao que somos la iglesia!

¡Qué diferencia hace un día! El lunes, 17 de abril fue el día 1 del proyecto de reparación de la iglesia que duró casi un año.

Las misas este fin de semana (22/23 de mayo) se llevarán a cabo en la antigua iglesia (709 J Street) y en el centro comunitario (1416 Maze Blvd.).

Masses this weekend, Apr 22/23 will be held at the old church (709 J Street) and community center (1416 Maze Blvd.).

A young, engaged couple sat on the couch in front of me as we chatted about their upcoming marriage. The young lady was struggling to trust her future husband. She told me her father had been unfaithful to her mother. She said of her fiancé, “I want him to prove to me that he won’t cheat on me.” The young man looked at me helplessly, raised his eyebrows and shrugged his shoulders. What evidence could he possibly give to validate such a proof? Nothing. All he could do was invite her to trust him.

Una pareja joven y comprometida se sentó en el sofá frente a mí mientras charlábamos sobre su próximo matrimonio. La joven luchaba por confiar en su futuro esposo. Me dijo que su padre le había sido infiel a su madre. Ella dijo de su prometido: “Quiero que me demuestre que no me engañará”. El joven me miró con impotencia, levantó las cejas y se encogió de hombros. ¿Qué evidencia podría dar para validar tal prueba? Nada. Todo lo que podía hacer era invitarla a confiar en él.

¡Felices Pascuas Cristo ha Resucitado! ¡Aleluya!

Jesucristo, quien fue brutalmente ejecutado y sepultado, está vivo de nuevo por el poder de Dios. El mensaje de la Pascua, el mensaje de la Resurrección es que “ha resucitado de entre los muertos”, ¡Jesucristo venció al pecado y la muerte por la salvación de la humanidad!

Jesus Christ, who was brutally put to death and buried, is alive again through the power of God. The message of Easter, the message of the Resurrection is that “he has been raised from the dead”, Jesus Christ was victorious over sin and death for the salvation of mankind!

Es posible que conozcan el número 4-1-1 como el numero que usamos en el pasado para solicitar "información", pero ¿sabían que el 4-11 (11 de abril) es la fiesta de nuestro santo patrón, San Estanislao de Cracovia? Mientras estamos entrando en la Semana Santa esta semana, comenzando con el Domingo de Ramos, tomemos un día para celebrar también al santo patrón de nuestra parroquia. San Estanislao fue canonizado en 1253 y fue arzobispo de Cracovia, Polonia.

You may know the number 4-1-1 as what you may have used in the past to call for “information,” but did you know that 4-11 (April 11th) is the feast day of our patron saint-St. Stanislaus of Krakow? While we are entering into Holy Week this week, beginning with Palm Sunday, let us take a day to also celebrate the patron saint of our parish. St. Stanislaus was canonized in 1253 and was the archbishop of Krakow, Poland.

Nos aproximamos al final de la cuaresma, y ya las lecturas de este 5° domingo nos anticipan y nos hablan de la resurrección.

En el evangelio Jesús resucitó a lázaro no para dar un espectáculo de su poder, sino para que sus contemporáneos creyeran en la resurrección. El resucitar a Lázaro es un anticipo de la resurrección del mismo Jesús y de la nuestra. Jesús resucitó a Lázaro de la muerte natural y Lázaro tuvo que volver a morir, pero resucitará una vez más para la vida eterna; esa es la promesa de Jesús (Juan 11:24-26). Jesús nos resucitará a la vida eterna a todos los que creemos en Él, esa es nuestra fe y esperanza de todos los que creemos en Jesús.

We are approaching the end of Lent, and already the readings for this 5th Sunday anticipate us and speak to us about the resurrection.

In the Gospel Jesus raised Lazarus not to give a show of his power, but so that his contemporaries would believe in the resurrection. The raising of Lazarus is a foretaste of the resurrection of Jesus himself and of ours. Jesus raised Lazarus from natural death and Lazarus had to die again, but he will rise once more to eternal life; that is the promise of Jesus (John 11:24-26). Jesus will resurrect all of us who believe in Him to eternal life, that is our faith and hope of all of us who believe in Jesus.

Vemos lo que queremos ver. Si sé que no me gustará un lugar antes de llegar allí, encontraré todas las razones por las que no me gusta; pero si mantengo una actitud positiva, encontraré muchas razones para que me guste. Lo mismo sucede si no me gusta alguna persona, nunca veré la bondad en esa persona; pero si mantengo una mente abierta, podré verla.

We see what we want to see. If I know I will not like a place before I get there, I will find all the reasons why I don’t like it; but if I keep a positive mind, I will find many reasons to like it. The same happens if I don’t like someone, I will never see the goodness in that person; but if I keep an open mind, I may see it. In the Gospel, the blind recovers the sight and was very happy, but the Pharisees could only see that it was done on the Sabbath. Would the Pharisees have been more supportive if this had been done on another day? I doubt it, they only saw what they wanted to see, and they would have found another reason to dislike Jesus.

Queridos amigos los invito a tomar el texto de Romanos 12,2 que dice: “Y no os acomodéis al mundo presente, antes bien transformaos mediante la renovación de vuestra mente, de forma que podáis distinguir cuál es la voluntad de Dios: lo bueno, lo agradable, lo perfecto”. Las palabras del apóstol nos sirven para iniciar este tiempo de preparación a la Pascua. La cuaresma es todo un “camino por el desierto”, como lo que hicieron los hebreos durante cuarenta años. Es tiempo de hacer un “alto” en el camino para preguntarnos sobre el propósito de nuestra vida.

I invite you to take the text of Romans 12:2 which says: "And do not accommodate yourselves to the present world, rather transform yourselves by renewing your mind, so that you can distinguish what is the will of God: good, the pleasant, the perfect”. The apostle's words serve us to start this time of preparation for Easter. Lent is a whole “path through the desert”, like what the Hebrews did for forty years. It is time to make a "stop" on the road to ask ourselves about the purpose of our life.
